Hey, all!

It’s that time of year, my people. C2E2 is upon us once again. 2014 is the year of the horse… And the year of The Horsemen. I will be speaking at not one, not two but three panels opening day, April, 25. Here’s the breakdown of how it’s going down:

The Standard: How to Compete on the Comic Book Rack

Location: Fan Village – S100a
Speakers: Jiba Molei Anderson, Jude W. Mire, La Morris Richmond
Description:

What makes one comic book more attractive than the other? Is it the art? Is it the story? Is it the concept? Is it marketing? Or, is all that and so much more? Join Jiba Molei Anderson (Griot Enterprises/Cedar Grove Books), La Morris Richmond (Jay, the Holy Roller, JBD, B.L.A.M. Comics) and Jude W. Mire (The Horsemen: Mark of the Cloven) for an in-depth discussion on the true nature of comic books and the basic levels of overall quality (concept, writing, art and design) one must have in order to have their books perceived as viable competition for consumer dollars.

The Black Comix Lounge began in 2010 as a Panel on the history and evolution of African American creators, characters and narratives in comics presented by African American comics professionals and scholars. The Panel grew into an annual roundtable covering the representation of African Americans and people of color in comics narrative, art and industry, the creation of new genres and styles fueled by explosive growth in indie and self-published media and more. For its fifth year, active creators discuss the practical realities of self-published and independent comics and media. Join people that found the narratives, characters and styles missing in comics by creating their own. Explore creative processes, content development, format considerations, approaching publishers, distribution channels and more.
